How should I manage BJD preorder balance payments?

Maintain the order in four steps

1. Save the original order link or screenshot and record the studio, item, and deposit when you place the order. After paying the deposit, keep it in Awaiting Balance.
2. When the studio publishes the balance notice, verify the amount, opening time, and deadline before setting alerts. A projected shipping month does not tell you when the balance is due.
3. After paying the item in full, move it to Awaiting Delivery. If the studio gives only a broad production estimate, keep the original wording and choose a personal delivery check-back date. Do not present that date as a seller promise.
4. Mark it Received only after the item arrives and you check it. Archive it when no further follow-up is needed, while keeping the order and payment evidence.

Separate parts, multiple studios, and long waits

BJD orders often split one doll into several purchases across different studios and schedules.

• Parts example: The body, head, default eyes, and face-up are separate orders with different balance deadlines. Give each one its own record and confirmed date.
• Two studios: Studio A opens payment midweek and Studio B closes payment that weekend. Store the studio name, confirmed date, and next action together instead of writing only the brand in a calendar.
• Long delivery wait: After full payment, keep the item in Awaiting Delivery. Save the studio's wording and add a personal check-back date with a note such as “personal check, not the seller's shipping date.” Update that date after a delay and archive only after receipt.

If you buy through an agent, use the formal notice you have verified rather than a guess passed along in chat.

What if the date is unknown or announced only in a group?

If you have paid the deposit but the balance date is not public, stay in Awaiting Balance. Save the channel and the seller's wording, then use Apple Reminders to tell yourself to check the source. Add the DuePair payment date only after the official opening or deadline is published. Do not move the item to Awaiting Delivery while money is still due.

After the item is paid in full, an uncertain delivery schedule is different. At that point, you may use a DuePair delivery reminder as a personal follow-up date, clearly labeled as your own checkpoint rather than a seller commitment.

iOS notification permissions, Focus modes, and device state also affect DuePair. A reminder app cannot change a studio's deadline or refund rules.

Is there an app for BJD balance reminders?
